Metropolitan Public Interiors
Warsaw
The interior is mostly dominated by wood, namely variably finished Polish oak. Consistency in materials results in a timeless interior that tells the story of the material which is closely related to Poland. The finishing choices are offered in opposition to the formal and cold exterior of the building. By contrast, the use of curves and characteristic vertical rhythms is a clear reference to the building's architecture in the interiors.

Wood used in every component of the interior varies in terms of form and detail. Horizontal surfaces - the ceiling and the floor correspond to each other through geometry. While the textured walls wrap the building like a sheet of paper. The dark-coloured wood of the walls alludes to bark. Slightly lighter coloration of floor and ceiling is a reflection of the naturalness and variety of shades of oak. The same type of wood, depending on drying processes acquires a different colour. Natural wood ages well and will make a great impression after many years.
